Ludwigsburg won late Saturday evening after two extensions with 104: 99 (90:90, 83:83, 38:46) and now leads 1-0 in the quarter-final series in Best-of-Five mode.
With 20 points, seven rebounds and nine assists, Jonah Radebaugh was the most important player of the hosts who were only able to avert a defeat after a clear deficit. Radebaugh met a threesome to equalize in the regular season, which saved the giants into the extension. An absolute top performance by Jaron Blossomgame (41 points, 16 rebounds) was not enough for the guests.
All favorites solved their tasks on Friday evening. Master Alba Berlin defeated the former series champion Brose Bamberg with 114: 89, the two challengers FC Bayern (77:53 against Chemnitz) and Telekom Baskets Bonn (100: 98 after extra time against Hamburg) also took the lead. The second games will take place in these three series on Sunday.
